A group of Year 8 students have been participating in an initiative where they spend the day at Kingston University. The students have been working with both University lecturers and undergraduate students on team building, leadership and presentation skills. Students also must research different courses and entry requirements for university courses across different establishments.
Associate Senior Leader- Paul Darbyshire “The university days have provided our Year 8s with excellent exposure to university life, and what is like to study at university. Our students also saw the various types of assessment methods and how University students work and live in a Higher Education setting. It was great to see the Year 8s, involved in all activities that were run by the University.
Billy Turner – Year 8 student – “It was great to work in teams during the day. We had to research and build a perfect University. I got to lead a team, and we had to produce results under time pressured conditions.
Holly Latham- Year 8 Pastoral Manager- “The Year 8s were brilliant. The students took part in all activities with great pride and enthusiasm. The students saw what University life was really like, and future opportunities available to them. The students were a credit to ICC”
