Extra Curricular Activities
We firmly believe that achieving academic excellence should be coupled with involvement in a diverse range of extra-curricular activities.
Whenever students express interest in a specific club or activity, we will strive to make it a reality.
Participation in extra-curricular activities promotes ambition, determination, and enjoyment of learning. Therefore, we encourage all students to take part in our extensive extra-curricular offerings, which include lunchtime and after-school clubs, leadership roles, charity fundraising, cultural and educational trips, and domestic and international residential excursions.
We offer an extensive range of clubs and societies which meet in the lunch break and after school to inspire and engage students. The clubs are open to all students covering all subjects including homework. We believe students become more self-confident and responsible both in and beyond the classroom when they engage in extra curricular activities.
Another benefit of students getting involved in extra curricular activities is that it looks great on CVs and college applications. Most colleges not only look at grades, but they take a look at extra curricular activities that students are involved in while they are in secondary school.
All students are actively encouraged to take part and try out new activities as this will help them to further develop their personal skills and talents. Clubs are open to all students, regardless of ability, and take place after school as well as at lunchtimes.

PE Extra Curricular Clubs
PE Department is trialling a new platform called SOCS Sport and SOCS Co-Curricular. These tools are designed to enhance communication and organisation around school sports fixtures and co-curricular activities, making it easier for both students and parents to stay informed and engaged.
What is SOCS Sport?
SOCS Sport is a dedicated platform for managing all aspects of school sports. It allows parents and students to:
- View team selections and fixture details
- Access live updates on match results and schedules
- Receive notifications about changes or cancellations
- Easily track training sessions and events
This system ensures that sports information is centralised and accessible, reducing confusion and improving the overall experience for our athletes and their families.
What is SOCS Co-Curricular?
SOCS Co-Curricular is designed to manage wider school activities. For our school, we will be using SOCS Co-Curricular specifically for PE clubs. Through this platform, you will be able to:
- Browse available PE clubs
- Sign up for activities online
- View timetables and attendance information
Our aim is to make the process of joining and managing PE clubs more streamlined and transparent.
Accessing SOCS
Both students and parents/guardians will have their own login to access SOCS Sport and SOCS Co-Curricular. Please refer to the letter and guide above for detailed instructions on how to access the system.
