ICC is proud to be part of the Inspire Scholars Programme run by St John’s College at Oxford University. The programme is designed “to encourage all pupils with exceptional promise to aim high, to stretch themselves academically and to be confident in making well-founded applications to a top university like Oxford.”
A selected a group of our most academically able year 9 students to take part in the programme, based on attainment at KS2, as well as recommendations from teachers and analysis of their achievements in year 7 and 8. This will continue until year 11, with a new group each year.
The students are encouraged to explore their interests, expand their academic horizons, and take part in a variety of activities, including visits to Oxford to meet with students and academics.
This year students are attending after school sessions about Utopias and Dystopias, Entomology, Sustainability, and Astrophysics.
There will be opportunities to visit Oxford, as well as an optional summer school. The programme is fully funded and the students have all meals, accommodation and activities paid for by St John’s College
