On Wednesday, five Year 10 students joined peers from eight other local schools for an exciting visit to Elekta, a global leader in precision radiation medicine. The students were given a guided tour of Elekta’s factory, where they learned about the development of cutting-edge MRI imaging machines used in cancer treatment.
The visit included a practical engineering session and in-depth talks from Elekta experts, offering insight into the technology and engineering behind their advanced medical systems. At the end of the visit, students presented their own creative ideas on how to improve existing MRI machines applying the knowledge they had gained throughout the day.
We are always grateful to local employers for opening their doors and providing our students with inspiring experiences that offer practical insights into medical technology, especially at this crucial stage as they begin to explore post-16 education options.
