Entry Requirement:

Grade 4 in GCSE English Language or  GCSE English Literature and
Grade 4 in GCSE Mathematics and
Pass in BTEC Business or
Grade 4 in GCSE Business Studies (if studied)

Course Overview:

The business sector is expansive and exciting with many opportunities available across finance, HR, IT, marketing and public relations, media, and many more. If you like a zest for hands-on learning, BTEC National Level 3 in Business Extended Certificate is for you.

The course prepares you for the practicalities of work in the competitive business environment. For example, in Unit 2, you will gain an understanding of how marketing campaign is developed. You will continue to explore the different stages of the process that a business goes through when developing its campaign. You will then use the skills acquired to develop your own campaign for a given product or service.

Over the course of the 2 years, you will study 4 units. Each unit helps you to gain the skills and application needed to help you gain employability skills desired by employers as well as the analytical, evaluative and presentation skills for success at University.

Year 1:
Unit 1: Exploring Business (Assessed internally through coursework)
Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign (Assessed externally through a set task in January and May of Year 1)

Year 2:        
Unit 3: Personal & Business Finance (Assessed externally and taken in January and May of Year 2)
Unit 14: Investigating Customer Service (Assessed internally through coursework)

Qualification Gained:

Year 1 – BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Business
Year 2 – BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Business
